Cover letter and index
The cover letter lists the forms, the fee and every exhibit in the order it appears. The index repeats the exhibit list with tabs, so the officer can move between the letter and the documents without searching.
Order of exhibits
- Identity and status documents for the petitioner and the beneficiary.
- Evidence of the qualifying relationship, grouped by type and dated in chronological order.
- Financial support documents, followed by translations and certifications.
Before filing
We check that every form is the current USCIS edition, that signatures and dates are complete, and that each exhibit referenced in the cover letter is actually in the package.
